What is the photoepilation?

Photoepilation is the most contemporary and effective way for permanent removal of undesired hairs. It can be applied to all parts of the body and allows both small and large areas to be treated. Photoepilation is based on the principle of selective photothermolysis and is performed by means of devices based on patented high technology called IPL (Intense Pulse Light). Light energy is absorbed by the melanin (pigment which colours hairs and skin) and transforms into thermal energy, which, on its turn, is carried out on the hair stem to its root where hair follicle is selectively warmed up and is destroyed, not harming the skin around. We have to realize that hairs have three phases of growth which are changed during different periods of time in different parts of the body and this procedure only influences hairs in one of growth phases (anagennic), in which the hair root is well shaped. Therefore, applying of several procedures in required (in most cases between 3 and 8) for achieving permanent and constant result. Different number of procedures is also determined by the treated zone as in different body zones, different amount of hairs are in the anagennic phase. According to the leading specialists in this area, the effect lasts several years; in order to keep this effect for a longer period of time, it is recommended, after completing the necessary number of procedures, one procedure to be performed every year.

Is the procedure painful?

The sensation is more like a light pinch than a pain. In some areas where skin is more pigmented or more sensitive, and hairs are darker and with deeply located roots, a light pricking can be sensed (for example the bikini line and intimate zones). Of course, sensation of pain is subjectively and depends on the pain threshold for every individual. The procedure is suitable for the face and for all the body parts where there are undesired hairs. There are no forbidden areas for treating and can be applied both to women and men.

What other aesthetic corrections can be performed with IPL devices?

The modern high technological IPL devices allow for some other important applications with extremely quick aesthetic and therapeutic effect. These procedures are: removal of severe forms of acne-vulgaris, acne-conglobata and acne-rosacea, removal of herpes-simplex, obliterating of gerontal and pigment spots, removal of skin-deep blood vessels, photo-rejuvenation - obliteration of fine wrinkles on the face, obliteration of tattoos. Depending on technological perfection of the devices used, one or more of the described cosmetic problems can be successfully treated.

• Photo-rejuvenation - rejuvenating skin procedure that uses consecutive intensive low-energy density impulse photons which do not harm the skin. Photon technology for skin rejuvenation gives a new decision to the problem of aging, with no traumas which can not only to improve drastically the face appearance but also to lead to smaller loosening.

• Treatment of acne - The directing photocleaning system opens a new era in the treatment of acne. Combining the already proven advantages of IPL therapy, the system creates a variant of treatment for those who so far have not obtained the desired results elsewhere.
